
Michael R. McDaniel is a 1977 graduate of the University of
Oklahoma College of Pharmacy. Mr. McDaniel has spent his entire career focused on
hospital / health-system pharmacy practice. Since becoming a Director of Pharmacy
just fourteen months after graduating from pharmacy school, his focus has been on
positioning the department of pharmacy to better perform clinically and economically
for the organization and its patients with a special focus on promoting patient
medication safety.
During his career, Mr. McDaniel has served as the Director of Pharmacy for a 118
bed facility, a 518 bed facility and two 900 bed facilities,Including Huntsville
Hospital where he is currently the Director of Pharmacy.
In 1990 he completed
an MBA in General Business from Amberton University in Dallas, Texas and became
an SKB-LDI Fellow of the Leonard Davis Institute of Healthcare Economics, the Wharton
School of Business, University of Pennsylvania. In 2000 Michael become a Fellow
of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
Mr. McDaniel is a highly sought after authority on management techniques for the
high performance hospital pharmacy.
